Parliamentary committees are among the most important bodies within the parliament. They are a key driver of parliamentary work and serve as platforms for legislation, laws, and the execution of parliamentary oversight responsibilities. In the previous years, parliamentary committees and the work done within them have faced several challenges that are expected to persist regarding parliamentary work in Egypt and its quality in the future. Due to inheritance and certain practices, these challenges are more evident when viewed from two specific angles: the prediction that the old bylaws of 1979 will continue to organize the work of parliamentary committees for a while, and the current opportunity for drafting new bylaws of a higher quality and efficiency that would improve parliamentary work and procedures within the House of Representatives. This could be done based on article No. (118) of the 2014
